Nightclubs are a very brutal business with super competitive clubs all going after the same customers. Most nightclubs host some sort of regular entertainment at their clubs which can vary from local bands to novelty acts to celebrity headliners. I know, most nightclubs are not booking celebrity acts these days due to budget concerns, but the ones that do still see a massive crowd attend the club and of course the club benefits through the sale of it’s food and beverage which hopefully not only cover the cost of the celebrity but make a profit for the club as well. That being said, it is not really that simple. You can’t just book a celebrity and then hope to sell tons of alcohol and food to cover it all and then some. You have to really crunch the numbers and take a look at exactly how much money you need to generate in order to cover the entertainment cost and you also need to choose the right celebrity or local entertainer at the right price in order to get the most value. You should also take into account your target audience. If you are going after teens and people in their early twenties, then perhaps someone like Ne-Yo, Rihanna, or Nelly might work. All in all, do your homework completely before investing in entertainment and you will not only be educated about your decision but your outcome will be much better as well.
